故事是这样的：一个由畸形人和残疾人组成的激进组织“变异行动”，专门策划针对所谓“完美人类”的恐怖袭击。Álex Angulo则像个失控的陀螺，用神经质的碎碎念把紧张感搅得稀碎。故事讲一帮残疾反派绑架富家女，结果全程不是炸飞机就是乱枪扫射，节奏快得像磕了药，黑色幽默混着血浆，中间还冷不丁来个荒诞反转，完全不按套路出牌。适合对cult片叙事实验感兴趣的观众，尤其是喜欢早期罗德里格兹式廉价癫狂，但更注重情绪断点而非流畅打斗的人。导演Álex de la Iglesia用低成本营造出独特的粗糙质感，血浆、黑色幽默和反讽信手拈来，叙事像喝醉了的漫画书一样疯癫跳跃。 这部西班牙怪片最大的特色是把黑色幽默和廉价的B级片质感混在一起，开场那场手术室闹剧就奠定了全片荒诞又粗粝的调性。
